The most distinctive of Valextra’s signatures, the Costa is the name given to the black lacquered edging on all our bags and is a discreet marker of Valextra’s exceptional attention to detail. Using an ink formula unique to Valextra that gives the finish a three-dimensional appearance, it is a five-step process meticulously executed by hand by our artisans. To achieve the flawless finish, the edges of leather are hand sanded twice, before the ink is handpainted onto the edges three times, allowing the ink to completely dry in between each application. It’s a masterclass in craft, each time.
