Pergamena: Valextra’s Signature Shade
Its provenance explained.
Encapsulating Valextra’s discretion and elegance, Pergamena white is a colour that conveys our enduring dedication to timeliness.
Taking its name from the original treatment used to prepare calf skin as well as sheep and goat leather, Pergamena translates to “parchment” in English as it was later used for high-quality writing devices and stationery. It was also frequently used in the lining of luggage, conjuring the inside-out attention to detail more frequently associated with couture techniques.
Now referred to as a colour rather than concept, Pergamena has been a constant source of inspiration for Valextra since it was first used by our founder, Giovanni Fontana, in the Forties. Eight decades later, it’s a shade that touches all our collections, its soft, matte tone adapting to the each of our engineered structures, adding depth and
elevating every silhouette.
Contrasted with our signature black lacquered Costa edging, each Pergamena piece comes to life, highlighting Valextra’s exquisite craftsmanship and ready for a new generation of style pioneers.
