A Florentine architect is due credit for designing the Central Station in Milan. Inspired by Liberty style, eclecticism, and Art Deco and Mesopotamic architecture, it is best known as one of the world’s most important examples of rationalist architecture.

A Slow Reveal

A Slow Reveal

The Stazione Milano Centrale is constantly revealing new corners and details – but no one ever forgets their first encounter. After crossing the Galleria delle Carrozze and passing through the  Salone delle Biglietterie, the building’s monumental staircase must be ascended to arrive at the sprawling glass roof and famous railway tracks. There are frescoes and sculptures, signage and paintings in every direction and on every wall – making this a destination in itself.
