These hand-drawn lines, like Valextra’s handpainted lines, bridge excellence in craft and design, natural and urban settings, the fictional and the real, embodying Valextra's craft in uniting opposites through design.

Valextra’s handpainted Costa and Inchiostro lines are as synonymous with Valextra’s exquisite engineering as they are with unrivalled luxury. Denoting the highest quality, they are symbolic of Valextra’s skill and dedication to precision-perfect finish, becoming personal style signatures.
SHAN JIANG
Exploring the positive tension in juxtapositions, the illustrator Shan Jiang is a serendipitous Valextra collaborator. For our Chinese Valentine’s Day chapter, the Shanghai native creative captured the essence of love within couples, emphasising the emotional connection and intimacy shared between individuals that reflected the timeless nature of Valextra.
CHINESE VALENTINE’S DAY
Valextra celebrates the Qixi Festival with the depiction of the romantic legend of Zhinü and Niulang whose love was forbidden, leading to their banishment to opposite sides of a heavenly river symbolising the Milky Way. Once a year, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, a flock of magpies would form a bridge to reunite the lovers for a single day, Chinese Valentine’s Day, a scene that forms the inspiration for our illustrative series.
